In the 1st semester

On behalf of the ÖH, we would like to welcome you to Johannes Kepler University. The ÖH represents your interests at the JKU and is always available to answer any questions, problems and provide information. You can reach us at oeh@oeh.jku.at or in person at the ÖH counselling rooms in the Kepler building.

Best regards,
Philipp Bergsmann
ÖH Chairman

The ÖH guide for first semester students provides you with the most important information about the JKU, the campus and valuable tips from the ÖH. Get it at the ÖH office (Bibliotheksplatz).

Student Counselling Days

For a good start to your studies, it is essential to get tips from higher semester students. There are many important insider tips, especially when it comes to planning your studies, choosing courses and putting together your study plan. This is exactly why we at the ÖH offer (first semester) advice days, where everyone receives personal advice from experienced ÖH staff to help them get off to the perfect start to their studies.
Already missed it or still have questions? Visit us at the ÖH Jus, ÖH SoWi and ÖH TNF offices in the Kepler building, we are always there for you!

ÖH JKU Welcome Day

At the ÖH JKU Welcome Day, your ÖH will explain everything you need to know about studying at the JKU. In particular, some insider tips that can't be found in any brochure but that everyone should know are passed on here:

  • What rights do I have as a student?
  • Where can I get the best food?
  • How can I get discounts?
  • Why is it important to register for courses after the exam dates instead of the course dates?

All these questions will be answered here!
Beforehand, ÖH tutors will show you around the campus.

ÖH First Semester Mentoring (EM)

In small groups of 30 to 70 first-semester students, trained mentors from higher semesters organise an entire programme. Throughout the semester, you go on excursions, to the canteen and canteen parties and, above all, get to know your fellow students in no time at all.
Seize the opportunity!
