Liebe Studentin,
Lieber Student,
wir sprechen dir auf diesem Wege unser Mitgefühl aus. Österreich und die EU haben den
völkerrechtswidrigen Angriff durch die autoritäre russische Föderation auf die Ukraine zu Recht auf
das Schärfste verurteilt und unsere Solidarität gilt in diesen Tagen ganz besonders der ukrainischen
Bevölkerung.
Die ÖH JKU und das Rektorat möchten dir hier einige wichtige Informationen zukommen lassen:
ÖH-Soforthilfe: Viele Studierende aus der Ukraine können aktuell nicht auf ihr Konto zugreifen und
sind mit enormen Einkommensverlusten konfrontiert. Um diesen Studierenden zu helfen, besteht die
Möglichkeit eine finanzielle Soforthilfe von bis zu 1000 Euro pro Person von der ÖH zu erhalten. Es
kann jede Person, die eine ukrainische Staatsbürgerschaft hat oder bis dato nachweislich von
Angehörigen aus der Ukraine finanziert wurde einen Antrag auf Förderung stellen. Die Antragstellung
ist ab sofort entweder postalisch oder via soforthilfe@oeh.ac.at möglich. Antragsformular & Richtlinien
sind hier abrufbar.
Psychosoziale Unterstützung: Für alle Studierenden die psychische Unterstützung benötigen, bietet
das Sozialreferat der ÖH JKU finanzielle Hilfe in Form eines Mental Health Förderfonds. Wenn du
Fragen zur Förderung hast, kannst du dich an sozialreferat@oeh.jku.at wenden.
Die erste Anlaufstelle der JKU für geflüchtete Studierende aus der Ukraine ist das International
Welcome Center sowie die Website: www.jku.at/en/ukraine. Dort findest du Informationen zu den
Studienprogrammen für geflüchtete Menschen (MORE-Programm) sowie auch zu Visabestimmungen
und Unterkünften. Die Website wird laufend ergänzt.
Ukrainische Studierende sind im Sommersemester 2022 laut einer Verordnung des
Bundesministeriums generell vom Studienbeitrag befreit. Zudem wird notfalls gerne bei einem
kulanten Umgang mit eventuell notwendigen Abwesenheiten geholfen. Ebenso sind natürlich
Beurlaubungen möglichst einfach zugänglich, solltest du diese brauchen.

Dear students,
we are contacting you on behalf of ÖH JKU and the JKU Linz! Austria and the EU have rightly
condemned the attack on Ukraine in the strongest possible terms, and our sympathy and solidarity go
out to the Ukrainian population, but also in particular to all students and researchers worldwide who
are under threat.
ÖH Emergency Aid
Many students from Ukraine are currently unable to access their bank accounts and are facing
enormous losses of income. In order to help students who are affected by the war, the Austrian
Students' Union (ÖH) offers the chance to receive emergency financial aid of up to 1000 € per person
from the ÖH. Any person who is studying in Austria and can prove that s_he has been affected by the
war can apply for funding.

Psychosocial support: For all students who need psychosocial support, the social department of the
ÖH JKU offers financial support in the form of a mental health fund. If you have any questions about
funding, please contact sozialreferat@oeh.jku.at.
International Welcome Center and MORE Program
The International Welcome Center acts as a personal and telephone contact point at JKU Linz for
refugee students and researchers from Ukraine. Since fall 2015, JKU has been involved in uniko's
MORE initiative, enabling people with a refugee background to find an academic future and new
perspectives in Austria. The program supports students with a refugee background who are either in
the pre-study program or already in the regular study program through mentoring, by means of
scholarships or by waiving the tuition fee. Ukrainian students in the summer semester 2022 are
generally exempt from tuition fees according to a regulation of the Federal Ministry. In addition, we are
happy to help with an problems due to any necessary absences, if necessary. Likewise, leaves of
absence are of course as easily accessible as possible, should you need them.
