Your Tasks
You will be part of a young, interdisciplinary team working on a research project funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) on the topic of ludic data visualization at the intersection of game design and information visualization. You will conduct research, development, and studies in the areas of game design, games user research, and information visualization. The position includes publishing scientific results in recognized international journals and conferences. Your tasks also include presenting research findings at academic conferences. You will have the opportunity to pursue a PhD as part of this employment.
Your Profile
Candidates should have completed a diploma or master’s degree in digital media or a related field, such as games, human-computer interaction, digital arts, interactive media, media informatics, or media design. They should possess excellent academic skills and a strong interest in game design and human-computer interaction. Expertise in one or more of the following areas is required: game concept development, game prototyping, level design, games user research, and game experience evaluation. A solid background in design and experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal is essential. Candidates should also have an interest in conducting user studies and be highly motivated to work in an interdisciplinary environment. Strong initiative, teamwork skills, and a high level of proficiency in English (C1) are required. While good German skills (B1) are advantageous, they are not mandatory.
